Personnel

Dayjob was founded by two guys, with midwest work ethics, east coast ideas, and west coast attitudes. The two principles at Dayjob have diverse and complimentary experiences in computer programming, web applications, graphic design, multimedia development, photography, good old-fashioned ingenuity, and a consumer friendly character.

Born and raised in Iowa and Ohio, Sean Porter and Todd Roeth met while working in cubes across the hall from each other at publishing software company Quark Inc., as a web developer and graphic designer. Todd’s penchant for clip art, Sean’s taste for intelligent design, and their mutual aversion to bullshit made for lively camaraderie. Their no-nonsense, practical approach to their work yields a productive chemistry that has gained momentum and effectiveness with every project they tackle. Both left the office environment for a more exciting day job: developing, designing, producing, and hosting web sites for like minded artists, musicians, and anyone who needs the power of the web, in an innovative fashion. They believe in practical, modest and sensible design for the sake of efficient communication and not just for gratuitous vanity (according to Mr. Porter), supported by simple and solid technology usable by the educated masses, not just tech-head geeks (per Mr. Roeth).

Taking inspiration from a wide range of music, art, sport, technology, farm implements, barside and campfire conversations, Sean and Todd have managed to stay outside the constraints conventional methodology and OSHA regulated work processes. The result is fresh, friendly, and innovative work on the world wide web, and they have never sat in a cubicle or worn a security badge since.
