A Soundtrack for 2009

Silkscreened CDs by the fine folks at 5inch
I finished my yearly Soundtrack. Each year (Here was 2008’s.) I compile my highest rated iTunes plays, and favorite new musicians or songs that have had the biggest impact on me; songs that I want to share with important people that are often far away.
Music is big part of my life; maybe because I interpret the world best through visual means, and music is the antithesis; it is invisible. I spend much of my time making music and musicians into something I can see, and therefore better understand for myself. Music is exhilarating to me because it is stimuli that is foreign to my own abilities. My lot in life is to communicate idea and emotion visually. When that same energy comes through music, I sometimes go into overdrive making visual associations and memories. These songs gave some of the best this year.
If you like these musicians – then go buy their music. Better yet, go to a show and buy their music right from them. And a tank top too, if they sell them.
